I want to thank everyone who attended the Annual Meeting of the Membership on Wednesday, June 24th.  The membership elected a new slate of officers and board members for the 2009-2010 year.

I am thrilled that Steve Cantor will take over a President of the Synagogue.  Steve is incredibly bright, personable, and thoughtful.  He will be helped by Eyal Cohen as Vice-President, Michael Froimowitz as Treasurer, and Linnea Froimowitz as secretary-clerk.  Yasher koach to these individuals for their energy, commitment and enthusiasm.

Lastly, I want to thank the outgoing officers and board members.  It has been an honor and pleasure serving with you.

I want to thank Rabbi Durani for an incredibly interesting and thoughtful pre-Pesach shiur on Shabbos afternoon.  It really got me thinking and helped me get into the spirit of Pesach!

The Combined Jewish Philanthropies Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for financial aid for the 2009-2010 academic year. The Committee awards financial assistance to financially needy undergraduate students whose permanent address is in a CJP service community.

Aid is in the form of a grant or an interest-free loan. The average award in 2008-2009 was $3,000. Awards are based on documented financial need. The deadline for applications is April 30, 2009.
