Jerusalem IsraelNadav Tamir is Israel's General Counsel for New England.  On Sunday May 16, from 10am to 12 noon, Nadav Tamir will be our guest speaker.  He will give an update on prospects for peace in the Middle East. 

Nadav was born and raised on Kibbutz Manara in northern Israel.  In 1980, he began his career in public service in the IDF, where he eventually served as a company commander and retired with the rank of major. 

Nadav then served as a security officer at the residence of the President of Israel, while earning his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Nadav joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1993, and the following year became the Policy Assistant to the Foreign Minister.  He had the privilege to serve under three Foreign Ministers: Shimon Peres, Ehud Barak, and David Levy.  In 1997, Nadav was promoted to the position of Political Officer at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C..  In 2001, he became Advisor to the Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. 

In 2003, Nadav was chosen as a Wexner Israel Fellow, and in 2004 earned his Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  

He is married to Ronit, a dance educator, and is the father of Maya, Ido, and Naama.
