breadThe sale of chametz is an important law, the observance of which is necessary for the maintenance of kashrut in the Jewish home.  Chametz which is owned by Jewish people during the Passover holiday may not be used after the festival period unless it was previously sold through the procedure prescribed by Jewish law.  Our religion provides for the legal sale of chametz, with the Rabbi generally acting as the agent for the sale.

Your chametz can be sold directly with the Rabbi by seeing him in person.  Should this be difficult or inconvenient, your chametz can be sold by printing and filling out the form below, and sending it to the Rabbi at the following address:

Rabbi Norbert Weinberg
130 Crafts Street
Newton,  MA  02460

I (we) ______________________________________________ hereby authorize Rabbi Norbert Weinberg to legally sell all of our Chametz which is in my (our) possession whether it be at home, place of business or elsewhere, in accordance with the requirements and provisions of Jewish law.  It is understood that I (we) will have absolutely no benefit or use from this Chametz for the duration of the holiday and that it will be the legal property of the party whom the Rabbi shall designate as the purchaser. I (we) also cede free access to the area where the Chametz has been stored.
