Michelson MaxThis year's annual "Community Yom HaShoah Commemoration" will be Wednesday evening, April 15  (27 Nisan 5775).  The guest speaker is Max Michelson, PhD.

Max Michelson was born in Riga (in Latvia) to an an upper middle-class Jewish family.  In 1940, at the age of 15, he witnessed the annexation of Latvia by the Soviet Union.  Private properties were nationalized, and Stalin’s terror spread to Soviet Latvia.

Max still lived in Riga with his parents when Latvia was overrun by the German army in June,
